So they played havoc and f*cked it all… the city is crying and dying… but who cares? you and me? eh.. caring and being concerned isn’t enough! How long can we stay like that?
Here are a few voices i want to share… responses to questions asked and talks and words…
Question #1:
So… how have you been seeing the day’s progress today? Any 1-3 line opinion or words you’d like to utter (the limit excludes the profanities you may or may not use - using them with due credits is highly appreciated)
Replies:
highly depressing,
but then, what can the common man do?
> hmm… that’s the thing.. but shall we stay the same? doesn’t that change us from inside ?
the people who so calmly terrorized the whole city are from among you and me
jab tak hum sab bewaqoof bantay rhaeingay these things will happen> yah exactly… but for how long.. that’s the question we should answer ourselves..
it makes me sick…
this is so shattering me… it’s so inexplicable
im feeling sick coz i cant go to meet my mom at the hospital… :( wut more can i say
all i know dat this was expected from long time before but never thought of it wud happen like this .. but this is it
its been a show which was pre planned
to the minutest detail> they can all go to mush’s backside actually… but then.. there’s already no room!
whether planned or unplanned… they suck bigtime.. the agencies and the controlling authorities..
what do you think about altaf q*s** after today’s bloody day
>he’s a b**t*rd and he can shove himself in musharraf’s backside :@
>and this ch**Ra even got the nerve to blame it on others and presenting himself as a victim! What the f***! Hello! Welcome to LALA land, everybody’s stupid here!?
I don think he can go into mush’s bush coz ch. brothers n sheikh rasheed already live there. But sincerely hope karachiites demand a new n true karachi ka leader
>But what do you think most of the karachi population made up of?
Who’s really concerned about the city and actually thinks like us and can do something? Errrkkk! wrong! It’s made up of those rats who can’t even distinguish if that’s mush’s bush! and they have the arms…
Well my idea of “those concerned n ready to do something for khi” is based on humanism instead of ethnic, cultural or religious basis which wd include someone like me too. I am truly convinced if we raise ourselves above our fears, language or ethnicity, karachi is the only city beside islamabad who can kick butts n create democracy…

Ejaz Asi says:
Look, to say the federal government did it and is to be blamed is of no use. The chaotic and buffooned General, after creating immense disgrace for Pakistan Army, will lead on to commit more and more such crimes. But the real question, and I mean real and bigger one, is how could Karachiites and those (MQM) who align themselves to Karachi’s wellbeing and ARE in the Government right now let it happen???
How could a friggin’ MQM Government see it all happen IF they were not part of the violence? How could people still trust the alliance and honesty of the man who betrayed his best friend? How could you let your poor people be derailed into oblivion and complacency?
Ah, I blame all Karachiites including myself for this to happen. If someone could stop it, it was US and no other fucking one else. And yet we remain aloof of the situation, we remain silent, lest someone from friggin’ MQM bang us or something. We will not raise our voices, we will not SPEAK, we will not ACT. that’s a pact Karachiites made a long back to themselves and to their coming generations and I am dying to see this pact breaking. Even if the cost may be a lot deadlier than the Karachi clashes we just saw. At least it would restore our dignity.

Well the problem of Pakistani people is, they are really FRUSTRATED and jealous they just need to get small tiger, one small chance n they will cum out on streets fire up their engine of revenge and will tear every thing that is better than they have.
I only blame that chief justice guy; I don’t know from last few months what he thinks of him self. If he was told by them not to come in Karachi, as such reactions were expected, than y he didn’t listen. He arrived 11 in morning, stayed in airport all the time and left Karachi evening some times. During his stay he couldn’t get what he want, but look what we have left with his action. During his short stay 27 people died and hundreds of bikes and cars were damaged along with uncountable number of property damage!!
Who cares about the property but still 27 life of human just wasted. Is this what we call behavior of chief justice?? Is this what we should expect from his qualification, experience and his power on nation? I don’t think soo..!!!
May 13, 2007, 6:08 pmDr. Waheed says:
It brings tears to my eyes to recall the bloodbath which the nation witness just a day before. Terror strikes my heart when I realize how barbarically those countrymen of mine were gunned down. I am filled with dejection when I visualize my fellow men lying dead in the pools of their own blood.
Yesterday was not an ordinary day. As the sun went down, the death toll had already risen to 34 and the score of those injured was well above 100. All this happened very much before our eyes. The TV channels broadcast the footages which showed everything happening in the broad day light.
I wonder when my nation will come out of this abysmal darkness. The role of the government is worthy of mention here. Yesterday, it was amazing to see both the police and other law enforcers nowhere in the background. The city roads turned into a battlefield. Men were killed like they are in a war. And people could not even come to rescue them. The driver of an ambulance was also shot dead. The callous inaction of the government fills us with resentment and detest. Why the hell are you ruling us if you can even ‘come’ to save our lives— let alone protecting our lives.
I am totally disappointed in the administration. I really dont know what is going to happen next. One thing is certain. Doom is a must— either for the people or the government of Pakistan.
Let us pray that our nation never sees such a state-backed massacre.
May 13, 2007, 8:13 pm~FurSid says:
I would agree with Ejaz as it is us who can actually DO any thing to stop it… and take a stand to save our city… probably just be selfish for the city and save it from where it’s headed which is no short of a disaster, anyway!
@Dr. Waheed
I can’t agree more to what you’ve expressed. So very true indeed. We all felt the pain and hurt. And it was more hurting to see that how the authorities kept silent and played their role in all this. This truly beats me and strengthen my doubts of their involvement or backing for the sad happenings.
Again, the question here is, at what stake it’s been done and when will we as a nation would rise? what would wake us up?

if you are looking for who to blame for what happened. I think every pakistani leader is
Why does any party members , MQM , PPP , PML-N , PML-Q or MMA need to carry weapons with them in the first place ?
These leader dont know that their supporters have automatic weapons with them ( bullshit ) , they probably provide them the weapons in the first place ..
I dont know much about MQM or other parties in karachi .. but why is altaf in UK ? why doesnt he come back to Pakistan and lead his party if he is so concerned about Pakistan ? I have seen MQM leaders on TV, In their press conference they were referring t0 11 party members who died. what about the rest of 23 ppl .. who were they .. who were they killed by ?
Its all too f**king depressing !!!

May 13, 2007, 4:44 pmyou are right about the blame game and Dr. Farooq Sattar saying sorry after whatever happened. What the hell! what’s the use now? !?? and Ghulam Arbaab Rahim… sitting up their can’t even reply to straight questions and just using the mastery of beating about the bushes… so fucking annoying and frustrating statements … what’s the use now giving rangers orders to take control.. while what happened is already history.. the damage is already done! where the hell were they all sleeping or what when the life line of the city was collapsing… blood was shedding… all in vein … the only question is perhaps how long will it take us to wake up and actually do something… when our voices would transform into action … i wonder… i have to ask that to myself… and to you and to everyone … everybody’s to be blamed.. because we’ve let them do it to us… and this seems an irony that now we’re complaining about it…

hmm.. i think ur reaction is very natural n shows how concerned u guys r but hv u ever thought y it most of the times happen in khi; something is definitely favorable for such activities in khi - may b manpower, resources or weak administration.
Don’t u think be it govt, political parties or even CJP; they r man of their own interest..they want power n use innocent ppl for their power demonstration or whatever.. n c how easily this innocent man goes after them ..raise slogans waste their energies, money, commitments n even their lives.
Being emotional and crying for pain is good but i must say v should find some practical solutions to counter this selfishness in future.
I’m a media student n i want u guys to discuss the part media played in this situation and yes don’t take it obvious!!

I live right behind flaknaz towers (the place where first person was shot)… we all saw what happened and stupidly no law enforcement agencies were there… bhittai rangers headquaters is just on walking distance from here… they took no step infact when they saw that MQM people are done with firing they escorted them back… there was an MQM mobile in our area near a bank as soon as they saw MQM people moving in they took refuge in a near by hospital and didnt step out till the shootout was over!!! this aint sumthin i heard its sumthin i saw for myself… the law enforcers had their hands tied this aint sumthin hidden… we all saw that gas shells were fired in a large number during the first hearing at islamabad… if karachi police/rangers wa not allowed to shoot anyone why didnt they used any gas shells in karachi???
plus one ov the main questions if the containers werent placed MQM rally wud hav reached their own spot while the CJ ones cud hav reached airport and collision cud hav been easily avoided!!! plus rangers cud hav been placed as buffer where the rallies were to collide… but its quite clear that mushy and his f**kin allies wanted to show their power!!!
May 13, 2007, 8:09 am~FurSid says:
I would definitely believe you Soldier as there are several witnesses to what actually happened in this city on that ‘black day’ (May 12, 2007). All your questions are valid and are a big question mark on the govt. and it’s policies and the role of MQM.
I think it’s pretty evident and now out and open in public (many appreciations and many thanks to the daring media) how govt. and MQM’s been part of the play. Let’s hope media stays free of biasness and presents what actually is out there (I doubt the true freedom observed by Geo TV but that could be a personal opinion).
