Google Transit

Friday, March 9th, 2007

Checkout the Google Transit. It’s great. See what google blog says about Google Transit.

It’s a great service to plan for your transit within the city with bus routes and visual map of your rout. It even calculates the timing for the transit and how much you’d have to walk to/from your rout. Wish something of this sort is available within our metropolis.

PKBlogs workaround and broken Archive links

Thursday, June 29th, 2006
  • You happen to be in Pakistan
  • Authorities (nonsense) has not forgotten to visit their SANE state and the Blogger ban is still on
  • Using http://pkblogs.com/your-blog-name workaround to access your blog
  • Your blog archive links takes you places (not the ones that you want them to)

If all of the above is stays valid for you, and you anwser ‘Yes‘ to all of them, read on, got a solution for you.

To fix the archive links on your Blogger hosted blog (accessed via pkblog workaround), we’re going to add a line (HTML Code) of code in your blog template code.

Follow the steps:

  1. Login to your Blogger blog account (blogger.com)
  2. Go to ‘Template’ section to open your template code.
  3. Before proceeding to the next step, it’s always good to back your stuff up :) save the template code just in case you do somethin wrong (ya, my proposed code and steps are perfect, so if anything goes wrong, that’s you!)
  4. Now you can go to the next step :p
  5. Find the tag (start from top, you’ll find it in the beginning)
  6. Put the following code (Note!! If you can not see the HTML Code below, download text file for instructions and code)
  7. Save your template
  8. Publish your blog (entire blog, not just index page)
  9. Well, check the archive links if they’re taking you to where they should proceed to next step, else go to step to and start over!
  10. That’s it! We’re done! hurray…

Say thanks to me and forward this chain blog entry to 2500 friends otherwise something bad is gonna happen at exactly 1325 hrs

Accessing Banned Blogger Blogs

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

As you know (if not, you will: follow the lead) access to blogger blogs are banned in Pakistan. Well, I know there are many ways accessing these banned blogs but for Mozilla Firefox users, here’s a nice bookmark keyword feature which will facilitate the access to these banned blogs.

  1. Open Bookmark Manager (Click Bookmarks> Manage Bookmarks… from Firefox command menu)
  2. Create a new Bookmark by clicking on New Bookmark… (the first command button on top)
  3. Fill in(copy, paste) the following information in the input dialog box:
    • Name
      Anonymous
    • Location
      http://anon.free.anonymizer.com/%s
    • Keyword
      anon
    • Description
Type “anon ” in the location bar to access blocked blogspot (Blogger Blogs)
  4. Click Ok to save the changes
  5. Quick Bookmark Manager

Now you’re ready to access the banned blogs. All you have to do is (as stated in the description) just type in the address bar of your Firefox browser, “anon ” (replace the with the banned blog web address) and hit enter. You will be able to browse the banned blog.

Revival of Sidlings!

Thursday, August 11th, 2005

I had this other blog , where i used to post usefull links, was kind of an online bookmark thing for me… the purpose was to share these links with my fellows and friends at a place where they can always come back and see new stuff.. and also a place where THEY can also add and share links. But unfortunately, none of the contributors did anything nor even benefit from it, let alone contributing anything to it. That really discourage me to an extent that i thought of deleting that blog!

Anyhow, now i’ve decided to revive it, and start posting and sharing links at it.

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

I’ve just put on this “white band” on my blog (as u can see it on the top right corner) and a button link at the bottom of links column.

Atleast, that’s SOMETHING that can be done.

Do a favor and try what u can put on your site from the selection of banners, buttons etc from the following link:

The ISP we have at our workplace is really #$@#$%. C’mon… there are those tiny mini ISPs (like Net Door) who’ve restored their services in couple of days after the digital breakdown… but this broadband service that we have as MultiNet is still striving to go forward with it’s crippled legs on the information highway huh… not to mention the fact that SuperNet had no effect at all in all this mess… they’ve their own satellite connection or somethin… but they never went down even for a minute…

Update Tuesday, July 05, 2005 10:47:49:

Finally MultiNet is also able to let me in my gMail account and I can see all my mails.. *phewwwwwwww* what a reliefffffff…. thanks heavens… net’s such a blessing (c’mon.. now don take it way too seriously or literary)
